An ancient bottle, in terms of whisky ages, Bunnahabhain 1974 bottled by Adelphi in stunning, flawless sherry cask with massive fruit cake notes.
Adelphi Distillery
Founded in 1826, the Adelphi Distillery is now Scotland’s most acclaimed independent bottler of single casks of rare malt whisky bottling straight from the finest casks without colouring or chill filtration.
Appearance
The colour of this well aged 35 year old reminiscent of cola or Olde English Oak, excellent beading.
Nose
A nose of scented oil, heavy but with a herbal, rosemary infused gravy fragrance with hints of balsamic vinegar. No obvious dryness from the sherry and not even the slightest hint of sulphur.
Palate
Wonderfully viscous and mouth-filling, sweet to taste, mouth-cooling.
Finish
Drying elegantly in the very long finish – like a dried out Christmas cake, with almonds.
